SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
We're pleased to announce SMA has just been declared an UNESCO World Hertiage site!

San Miguel de Allende is a charming colonial town with cobblestone streets, 16th & 17th century architecture of pastel colors and beautiful old churches.  It is the home of the Mexican independence and a vibrant center for the arts. In 1926, SMA was declared a national monument.  This preserved the historical nature of the town and is the reason the town is free of traffic lights, neon signs, and fast food restaurants.

SMA is situated in the highlands of central Mexico in the state of Guanajuato. The area is known as the Bajio region for its vast plateaus of fertile soil and rolling hills. The year round climate is pleasant with warm sunny days and cool nights. SMA sits at 6,400 ft keeping humidity and temperature down and the air crisp and clear.  The superbly clear light is one of the many reasons so many artists have made SMA their home.

SMA is the perfect place to relax or be active.  Some of the possible activities and attractions in our area include concerts, plays, lectures, readings, art openings, and town fiestas.
